Marketing Assets Automation: End the Manual Resize

Creative automation separates the one-time creative work (master template) from the thousandfold grind (resize, variation, localization). Channels like Instagram, LinkedIn, and display ads constantly need fresh material in ever new formats. Manual adaptation does not scale. We industrialize the process without replacing creation: designer builds the master, AI populates it with product data for all channels and languages.

THE PROBLEM

When the campaign fails at the banner

Marketing has the campaign idea, media planning is set, the launch date is fixed. One question remains: who builds the 50 banners in different formats for display, social, and newsletter? The design team. They have been overloaded for weeks. The result: the campaign launches late or only on one channel.

On top of that, every language, every product variant, and every new channel format multiplies the effort. For an assortment of 200 articles across 5 countries and 4 channel formats, that is 4,000 individual assets. Impossible manually. With the old workflow, a financial hole.

The solution is decoupling: design builds the master template once, defines the layers and brand rules. Marketing or the AI populates the template with data. Creation stays human, variation becomes mechanical.

What is creative automation?

Creative automation is the process where marketing materials (banners, videos, social posts) are not created manually one by one but generated automatically at scale and in various formats based on data feeds and master templates. A designer builds the master creative with defined layers (background, product image, logo, price, CTA). The render engine combines this template with a data feed (product name, price, image URL) and produces ready-to-use assets in all required formats and languages. What used to take days now runs in minutes.

Four layers for industrialized creation

/ OUR APPROACH

01

Step 01

Master template and layer definition

The designer builds the master in their preferred tool (Figma, Photoshop, After Effects). We extract the structure: which layers are static (logo, background graphic, brand colors), which are dynamic (product image, headline, price, CTA text). Static layers get locked, dynamic ones get connected to data feeds.

02

Step 02

Banner and ad automation

Through established render engines (Bannerbear, Celtra API, or custom pipelines) we map data into layers. Input is a feed with product name, price, image URL. Output is ready PNGs, JPGs, or MP4s in the required formats: Story (9:16), Feed (1:1), Leaderboard (728x90), Half Page (300x600), all in one render job. For dynamic creative optimization (DCO), we generate multiple variants per format that the ad server can test against each other.

03

Step 03

AI image composition

If you only have product photos on white, the visual context is missing. Our AI (Stable Diffusion or Midjourney API) generates brand-safe backgrounds: the sofa in the living room, the sneakers in an urban setting, the tool in the workshop. Product cutouts stay intact, only the background gets created. Brand safety check prevents unwanted associations or prohibited content before render.

04

Step 04

Localization and format adaptation

One master, 20 languages. The pipeline checks text length per language against the available layer space. German is 30 percent longer than English, Japanese 50 percent shorter. Where text overflows, the pipeline proposes alternatives or reduces font size within defined brand limits. What comes out does not break the design.

Brand safety through template locks

The most important part of creative automation is CI compliance. Our templates lock fonts, colors, and logo positions. The AI may change content (swap the product image, adjust the headline, update the price), but never violate the design grid. That excludes the risk of a campaign tipping into a brand violation through automated population. What you approved stays approved.

5 minutes

instead of 5 days for adaptation to 50 formats

A design agency in a classic workflow needs about one day for the master and about 5 days for manual adaptation across 50 different formats (resize hell, copy-paste, correction rounds). With the Xanevo render pipeline, the master day stays identical. Adaptation runs in 5 minutes as a render job. Error rate: zero, because data comes directly from PIM or feed.

Three questions brand and marketing leads ask

No. The designer is not replaced, they are relieved. Master templates, campaign ideas, and creative strategy stay human. What we automate is the resize and variation grind that nobody enjoys doing anyway. Designers gain time for the work that is actually creation.

You update the master template once and the pipeline produces all subsequent assets automatically in the new version. Existing campaign assets can be re-rendered at the click of a button, with no one manually walking through 500 banners. CI updates become a 10-minute task instead of a 2-week operation.

Render engines: Bannerbear, Celtra, or custom pipelines on HTML/Canvas renderers. Image composition: Stable Diffusion and Midjourney API. Video generation: After Effects templates with data bindings, or Runway. Which combination makes sense for you depends on volume, format variety, and existing toolchain. We decide in the asset audit.
