Digital Product Passport:
From Regulatory Burden to Trust Bonus.

EU requirements for product transparency are rising, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) becomes mandatory. Xanevo helps you bundle product data, materials, and circular-economy information automatically, so you are not just compliant, you deliver real value to your customers. Data is the currency of the circular economy. We build the vault for it, based on your golden records and clean supply chain transparency.

What is the Digital Product Passport (DPP)?

The Digital Product Passport is a structured, machine-readable data collection per product containing information about materials, origin, repair, recycling, and CO2 footprint across the entire lifecycle. Mandated by the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), it becomes required step by step for various product categories (batteries and textiles first). Unlike a PDF datasheet, the DPP is dynamically updatable and accessible via scan (QR code, NFC) directly at the physical product. Customers, repair services, and recycling operators access the same data source, without you having to maintain 50 different reports.

// PRODUCT MODULES

Three modules for data aggregation, compliance, and customer interface

Module 1: Automated data aggregation

The pipeline pulls data from your PIM, ERP, supplier systems, and external sources (certificates, CO2 databases) and aggregates them into a consistent DPP record. When something changes in a source, the DPP gets updated automatically. No manual maintenance, no outdated passport content.

Module 2: EU compliance-ready

We follow ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation) and industry-specific schemas as soon as finalized. For early industries (batteries, textiles) requirements are clear, here we deliver production implementations. For later industries we keep the architecture flexible so new schemas integrate without rebuilds.

Module 3: Customer interface, Scan and learn

QR code or NFC tag on the product, scan leads to the passport page. End customers see material info, repair guides, recycling notes. Repair shops see technical data and parts lists. Recycling sees material IDs. One data source, three audiences, each with an optimized view.

// FAQ

Three Questions about the Digital Product Passport

Timelines vary by product category. Batteries and textiles come first, others follow gradually through the end of the decade. We check your concrete exposure in the AI Readiness Sprint with the latest regulatory data.

Xanevo uses decentralized or cloud-based solutions that guarantee high data sovereignty and tamper-resistance. The architecture is EU-compliant, depending on your industry's requirements we pick the right storage topology.

Absolutely. A transparent product passport is the strongest argument against greenwashing accusations and builds trust with B2B and B2C customers. Instead of claims like "sustainably produced" customers get verifiable material origin data. That's marketing with substance instead of promises.
